1. How big a grant is available?
The grant from the Agence en efficacité énergétique varies in relation to the size of the solar hot water kit being installed. These kits vary based on the number of solar panels that they include, as follows:
- One Panel: $2,700
- Two Panels: $3,750
- Three Panels: $4,250
2. Where will these grants be available?
This pilot project applies to the whole of the province of Québec. While there are not always certified installers in the rural and norther regions, there is a great deal of interest in solar energy among tradespeople. Contact us to see if we have already trained someone in your area; if not, we will work with you to identify a good candidate and to provide them with the training they require, if there is enough interest.3. How long does it take to get the grant?
The AEÉQ is promising a turn-around of 2-4 weeks in approving requests. As soon as your grant is approved, we will schedule your installation. When the installation is finished, we will submit a Confirmation of Installation form, and the AEÉQ will arrange for an inspection (at no cost to you). The grant amount is supposed to be issued soon after the inspection is completed.4. Are taxes due on the full amount of the installation, or only the part not covered by the grant?
Good question....As soon as we have an answer, we will post it here.5. Other questions?
Send us your other questions, and after we answer you we will post the answer here for others to see.
